Tokyo is a big city with many things to do, but I narrowed it down to the best things that will take your trip to the next level. These things would mainly be fun with teens and young adults. So without further ado, these are the top 10 things to do in Tokyo.
1. Teamlabs Planet Tokyo
Teamlabs is an art gallery that utilizes technology to the fullest. There is a wide array of rooms and they in total have 8 exhibits. First, you enter a tunnel with water at the bottom and a mini waterfall at the top. Then you enter a room described as a black hole—the space changes by the person’s body weight. The people around you make you sink more. The next exhibit looks like something from Doctor Strange, it’s a crystal exhibit where there are crystals and they're very shiny and it is beautiful how they shine. There are different colors that the light projects and each of them looks equally as good as the others. That is kind of a sneak peek of what
you would be getting into Teamlabs Planet. The prices of Teamlabs are $25 for an adult, but for teens, it is about $15 which is a pretty good price for a well-themed art gallery.
2. Tokyo Disney Sea
Disney Sea is a theme park located in Chiba, Japan but is considered a Tokyo theme park. The park has theming that is considered world-class and is considered one of the best. The park features 7 lands, each with a different story. You could join Sindbad on the Arabic coast or
escape the Temple of the Crystal Skull in the Lost River Delta. The first land, Mediterranean Harbor is an Italian-themed area where you could feel the wind on your face while riding Soarin, or flow along in Venetian gondolas exploring the area. This area is very well-themed and immerses the person in old Italian streets and there are about 6 eateries that are a combination of sit-down restaurants and quick-service eateries. The main attraction for this land is Soarin' Fantastic Flight and it does not disappoint. It is a style of flying theater that uses a lot of effects to immerse the person in the rich landscapes of the world. If you've been to this attraction somewhere else like Epcot or Disney's California Adventure then this is the same as them, so you should skip it if you've already been to the ones there. Up next is the American waterfront, which has some very iconic rides such as Toy Story Mania and Tower Of Terror. They both have amazing rides in other countries but Tokyo takes them to the next level. First, the Toy Story Mania ride is
already iconic on its own but with more theming in the queue. It's a 3D shooting ride when you shrink into Andy and experience the carnival games of what the toys set up. The shooter ride is adored by many as an amazing ride. There are 4-D effects like water and air from the targets. Next is the main attraction of the American Waterfront, Tower of Terror. This is an abandoned elevator ride that drops up and down Hotel Hightower. That is a little bit about Disney Sea.
3. Shibuya Scramble Square
This mall is humongous and stands at a staggering 750 feet at the highest point. This mall has 19 floors and an array of shopping, dining, and activities. At the mall's highest point, there is an observation deck called the Shibuya Sky which has amazing views of Tokyo and you could see some amazing sights like Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Skytree, and even Mount Fiji on a good day. The Skyline is 360 degrees so you can experience the beautiful city of Tokyo from every angle. The
restaurants in the mall are sure to give you an amazing taste after every single bite. One restaurant that is a must-eat is the Yakitori
at Toriyako NEO on the 12th floor of the mall. There are a lot of American shops in the mall but there are also an array of Japanese stores as well. The mall would take someone about half a day to explore because of the size of the mall.
